The second release on Sculpture's new Plastic Infinite label, Tapegrot Volume 1, is an EP comprising 6 electromechanical works, performed to 2 track tape in 2017 or early 2018, mislaid on unmarked reel, later found under a pile of junk colouring a windowsill overlooking a forlorn stretch, the last street in Hackney, or the first, depending whether you travel North or South. Inhalation of this ferrous dust may be apt to provoke a Delphic vision; the python coils upon itself and you may travel from the 31st floor, gliding above the glittering surf, out across the bay, into some radiance. This is not Haringey.

I love this series because it is so interesting and the first 3 stages are nice to listen to for studying. The music is sad and happy, distorted in parts but real throughout. keenan_bruce
